Using specialized equipment, sensors are placed on the head which record brainwave activity. The QEEG or Quantitative electroencephalogram equipment determines four divisions of electrical impulses produced by your brain called “frequency bands”. The computer screen allows you to see the actual brainwave activity. By the measures of each frequency band, the practitioner can understand where the brain is either overactive or under active. The location of the brain is determined and associated with its specialized function and symptoms of the client to develop a training protocol tailored to the individual. The protocol provides direct training to the individual in the form of a video. Eventually the brainwave activity is taught to function in a more desirable, more regulated performance and better functioning of the central nervous system.

Neurofeedback addresses problems of brain dysregulation and can help an individual manage symptoms that are associated with dysregulation based disorders such as anxiety-depression spectrum, attention deficits, behavior disorders, various sleep disorders, headaches and migraine, chronic pain and emotional disturbances such as seizures, the autism spectrum and cerebral palsy.

Individuals of any age can benefit from EEG training.   Neurofeedback can help with a variety of childhood problems including attention deficits and other forms of disruptive and disturbing behaviors, bedwetting and nightmares.   Adolescents who struggle with anxiety and depression or drug and alcohol use can also benefit from Neurofeedback training.

Neurofeedback training can help maintain good brain function as we age.   It is also utilized by athletes, business people and individuals in the arts to enhance ability by peak performance training
